Applied Materials Mechanical Inspector-Engineering Technician in Gloucester, Massachusetts
Key Responsibilities
First Shift position.
Quickly comes up to speed to work independently to ensure incoming product entering operations or inventory meets all design requirements by confirming dimensional characteristics, visual / cosmetic attributes, functional operation and supporting documentation review
Reads and interprets documentation, such as work orders, inspection manuals, and drawings, to determine preferred inspection plan.
Design and implement inspection methodologies and procedures for part qualifications following established standards and best-known methods.
Conduct part setup, including CMM programming and optimization utilizing 3D models, prints, fixturing and probe calibration
Conduct inspection of parts and packaging utilizing standard tools and methodologies
Utilize a variety of inspection tools to ensure materials comply with defined specifications, including surface plates, height gages, pin gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, etc..
Compare measurement outputs, observations and available data against design requirements to determine pass/fail.
Documents findings, reports data, and makes final disposition determination (MRB) on incoming and stock materials
Identifies potential opportunity for continuous improvements and provides project support as needed
Provide inspection guidance to others in various departments including Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering
Observes all safety standards. Maintains a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment. Attends required health and safety training and follows safety and security policies, procedures and practices. Promptly reports accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to supervisor or Safety dept.
Functional Knowledge
- Has developed proficiency in a range of analytical processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks. Strong skills reading blueprints and selecting and using appropriate measurement tools, preferred. Good organizational skills. Position will require developing expertise in PC-DMIS & Calypso CMM programming language, SAP and MS Office and MS Outlook applications.

U.S. Salary Range:
$25.00 - $34.65
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
