The client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, managing, and implementing both short and long-term IT solutions for our lab infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the security, integrity, and high availability of our enterprise systems and related components. This role involves ensuring the seamless availability of client/server applications, configuring and installing updates, and developing robust processes and procedures for the ongoing monitoring and management of mission-critical services. The ideal candidate will take ownership and independently manage a small to medium Windows environment, analyze functional requirements, and recommend technical solutions to stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows client and server environments.

• Design, configure, install, and maintain all hardware, including servers and storage solutions.

• Install and maintain patches and antivirus software to meet customer standards.

• Develop and maintain documentation for lab computing equipment.

• Ensure security compliance on all Windows servers.

• Manage server and storage hardware in the data center.

• Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical system issues.

• Drive support level escalations.

• Analyze, determine, and document technical requirements.

• Support and contribute to developing and maintaining the enterprise strategic plan.

• Perform proactive support functions and reporting to maintain the integrity of enterprise equipment and infrastructure.

• Work with ticket queues to support operational issues.

• Participate in root-cause analyses as needed.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with the team, operations, and other key stakeholders.

• Monitor all Windows and Linux servers for performance issues and stability concerns.

• Work under the direction of GIS (IT) to define and implement security parameters.

• Interact with business techs (engineering, operations) to understand lab requirements.

• Manage and maintain computer lab equipment and software.

• Provide technical support and guidance to business lab users.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
