Berkshire Health Systems Admitting Float Specialist in Great Barrington, Massachusetts
DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Provides coverage for all non-exempt positions within the department, including, but not limited to Access Coordinator, Scheduler or Financial Coordinator.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Admitting and Meditech experience preferred. One year experience in hospital environment required. Knowledge of third party payers preferred.
Education and Training:
Two years of college (secretarial/health related) or equivalent work experience. Medical terminology preferred
License, Certification & Registration:
Other Requirements:
Proven typing ability (40 wpm) and computer skills (ie. Meditech).
Manual dexterity necessary for typing/computer purposes.
Ability to speak the English language in a clearly understandable manner.
Ability to speak/understand Spanish preferred.
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to learn quickly in order to become proficient in all areas of the department. Ideal candidate will demonstrate and maintain a high level of flexibility and be able to adapt to any shift.
Proven ability to interact appropriately with the community, hospital staff and physicians while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Proven, outstanding customer service skills, consistently demonstrating a professional, pleasant presentation.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Proven ability and experience dealing with agitated/dissatisfied persons.
Must possess and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
Ability to troubleshoot/maintain proper operation of business equipment.
