GREENFIELD Industrial Product Designer The Designer uses CAD skills, Design-for-Manufacturing principles, and a creative problem-solving approach to develop, configure, and maintain BETE product. The responsibilities include collaborating with engineering and sales to define customer requirements, creating manufacturing drawings, design and testing of prototypes, and working in interdisciplinary teams to solve design and manufacturing challenges. The Designer should possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively and clearly. Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining assigned product lines and initiating efforts to standardize those lines to improve product performance and minimize cost. Responsible for maintaining the Technical Basis document for assigned product lines. Responsible to design and develop CAD models, prototypes and perform testing in support of product Design. Responsible for providing design outputs in CAD format, solving basic problems and documenting solutions to support daily operations. Responsible for identifying and implementing ideas and processes that will help to improve the quality of the assigned products with regard to fit, form, and function. Must be responsive to NCRs associated with assigned product lines. Responsible for providing detailed, complete, and correct design outputs. Responsible for performing design reviews. Responsible for actively participating in assigned department and company projects and ensuring that due dates for assigned project tasks are met or exceeded and output are of high quality. Responsible for being basically familiar with the intent and use of department procedures and maintaining design documents in accordance with procedures. Responsible to identify and implement ideas that support the continuous improvement of department and company processes. Responsible to identify and implement improvement ideas that will reduce the cost associated with the design, manufacture and customer support of assigned products. Expected to take ownership of assigned tasks, work diligently to complete those tasks correctly and meet required due dates and seek guidance on techniques to meet expectations when needed. Must be able to occasionally work independently and plan time effectively, to maximize personal productivity. Must be capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision and notifying their supervisor or project leader to resolve priority conflicts. Must strive to continually increase job-related knowledge of products, procedures, and processes. Responsible for learning from department and company initiatives, researching related subjects, and as appropriate professional training and continuing education.
