GREENFIELD - Special Education Teacher (Learning Specialist) Job Description: Four Rivers Charter Public School is seeking an outstanding Learning Specialist (Special Education Teacher) and advisor. Affiliated with EL Education, Four Rivers is college preparatory and has a clear mission of educating young people for lives of learning and service. Located in Greenfield, MA, Four Rivers enrolls 220 students in grades 7-12 and has been in operation for over 20 years. Qualifications: MA DESE licensure as Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities Bachelor\'s degree in Special Education or related field; Master\'s degree preferred Successful experience as a Special Education Teacher with middle and/or high school students; minimum of three years in a public school preferred. Strong skills with computer technology and reporting platforms. Personal qualities that exemplify the school\'s emphasis on character and community, including genuine interest in and connection with adolescents, eagerness to serve as an advisor. Appreciation for the EL Education design model, and commitment to work with colleagues and coaches to develop curriculum and implement core practices. Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to teamwork, and readiness to reflect and grow. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom accommodations. Energy, flexibility, and sense of adventure required to work hard in a small school. Enthusiasm for the school\'s mission and its themes of nature, technology and community and understanding of the school\'s responsibilities as a charter public school. Experience implementing culturally sustaining teaching practices. Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Provide instruction in various subjects such as math, language arts, science, and social studies Utilize effective teaching strategies to support students\' learning goals Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to ensure student success Create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Direct a team of teaching assistants and support them in their role as classroom aids.
