Job Description

The Software Engineer will support our Air Force customer out of the Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) specifically with the Advanced Battle Management System - Digital Infrastructure (ABMS-DI). The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate with senior engineers on the team as well as with government senior engineers at geographically dispersed locations. He/She will be a thought leader and will drive innovative solutions in support of the customer mission.

We are seeking to staff one position that can be at any one of these locations:

  • Hanscom AFB, MA

  • Wright Patterson AFB, OH

  • Montgomery, AL

  • Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington DC

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

  • Ensures software standards are met.

  • Verify and Validate DI Platform Design

  • Develop system functional test plans and ensuring software developer unit tests are effective.

  • Provide subject matter expert support to government for improving the design or operations of the DI CI/CD software development pipeline.

  • Establish and maintaining software development version control

  • Ensure software developers are documenting software code effectively.

Responsible for the following Deliverables:

  • DI Orchestration Platform Function Test Plan

  • Version Control Plan

  • Issue Tracking Metrics

  • Programming Style Guide

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

  • CICD Pipeline Design and Operations

  • Kubernetes (K3D/RKE2/EKS/AKS)

  • PlatformOne BigBang

  • Hashicorp Vault/Boundary/Consul/Terraform

  • Service Mesh Design

  • Hypervisors (Proxmox/ESXi/Harvester)

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level I/II Certification

  • Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
