The primary purpose of this position is to provide a student trainee who has been appointed to the Pathways Program with on-the-job training and guidance to further student technical development. .*THIS PUBLIC NOTICE COVERS ALL SUMMER HIRE STUDENT TRAINEE, GS-0199-02/03/04 POSITIONS FOR ALL TITLES* Responsibilities *This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, this position may be extended to the fullest legally allowable period without competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds.* GS-2/4: Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of a recreation aid. Participates with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects. Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives. Provides customer service assistance. GS-03: Performs assigned tasks and phases of routine projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of recreation assistance. Participates with senior personnel in conducting routine activities. Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and/or supervising recreation activities. Provides customer service assistance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Student Trainee Positions. Failure to submit transcripts, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university will result in an ineligible rating. QUALIFICATIONS: For GS-02 grade level: Completion of high school diploma or equivalent no later than June 2024 AND acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/ university. For GS-03 grade level: Completion of 30 semester hours or more of post high school study leading towards a qualifying degree (i.e. associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.) For GS-04 grade level: Completion of 60 semester hours or more of post high school study leading towards a qualifying degree (i.e. associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.) NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. *For completed educational programs or equivalent during Spring/Summer 2024, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university for Fall 2024 must be provided NOTE: This is an open continuous announcement and will be used to fill vacancies as openings occur. Education This position has an education requirement. You MUST provide transcripts or Official Letter of Enrollment to support your educational claims. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. Additional Information This internship is to provide a learning opportunity for a student enrolled in a field of study relating to their career path, to enhance their future goals and improve their knowledge with work experience in a working environment. The entire period served under the Internship Program counts as the participant's trial period.
