Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Associate Director, HR Operations in Hingham, Massachusetts

What we need:

As Associate Director, HR Operations you impact the employee life-cycle, by executing and building thoughtful, business critical and people-focused processes. This position will be responsible for developing and executing HR processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and providing operational support to the HR Operations Team. You will use your skills to support and manage payroll processing, leave administration and HR budget management.

Your Day to Day:

HR Operations

  • Ensure that employee records are accurately and efficiently compiled, reviewed, analyzed, submitted and secured in Workday and related downstream systems

  • Ensure employee data in Workday and related payroll systems is up to date and accurate

  • Support the HR team by participating in the design and management of the workflows supporting Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and HR Business Partner activities, as well as partnering with cross functional teams such as IT, Finance, and Legal

  • Support the HR leadership team as budget manager for HR, assisting in the creation and monitoring of the HR budget as well as providing oversight to vendor contract and purchase order management

  • Support all ongoing audit requirements including SOX compliance

Payroll Operations

  • Review and approve the US multi-state payroll for salaried and hourly, full time and part time employees ensuring the accuracy and compliance across all jurisdictions and multiple EINs

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions

  • Manage regular preparation of management reports, including monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit, etc)

  • Manage audit support successfully through strong partnerships with the HR team and external auditors including coordination of external audits and advising remediation efforts for exceptions identified

Leave Administration

  • Oversee administration of federal, state, local and company leave of absence policies and short-term and long-term disability programs including eligibility, intake, case management, return-to-work, issue resolution, escalations and vendor management

  • Manage service provider relationships with the leave of absence and disability administrators to ensure proper administration of leaves of absence consistent with applicable laws and company policies

  • Collaborate proactively with internal business partners to provide subject matter expertise and counsel and work with partners to identify solutions and to ensure that qualify, professional and timely assistance is provided to associates

We’re Looking for:

  • A self-starter, who is highly motivated and able to shift directions quickly when priorities change and the ability to think through problems, come up with innovative solutions and deliver against tight deadlines

  • Excellent collaboration & communication skills, and team building–the ability to roll up sleeves and get into the details

  • Ability to Independently recognize and create opportunities for process/program improvement and have a track record of improving/streamlining when appropriate

  • Familiarity with and understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance practices

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to adapt to a changing internal data environment

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of HR Operations or Payroll Management experience

  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and other relevant software; Workday and ADP experience is strongly preferred

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives with incisive judgment, process orientation, and business sense

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, taking initiative to move projects forward, always with a solutions-orientated approach

  • Communication skills suited to a wide variety of audiences in both written and verbal capacities

  • Ability to recognize and process confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Salary Range: $153,000.00 - $187,000.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
