Derby Academy Director of Auxiliary and Summer Program in Hingham, Massachusetts
Reporting to the CFOO, the Director of Auxiliary and Summer Programs is responsible for the strategic planning, operations, program design, market development, promotion, budgeting, and evaluation of Derby Academys academic year Auxiliary Programs and Summer Programs. For Summer 2025, the Director will oversee and ensure the successful execution of programming established by the outgoing Director of Auxiliary and Summer Programs. Following Summer 2025, the Director will lead the evaluation and development of program offerings for Summer 2026 and beyond. Now accepting applications. Interviews will begin February 1, 2025. Responsibilities: -Build vibrant programs that support the school\'s mission and program, build Derbys exposure to the wider community and achieve annual and long-term net revenue growth targets. -Collaborate with school leadership, administration, and division heads to ensure that auxiliary programs align with and support Derby\'s mission and philosophy; -Design, enhance, and expand program offerings that align with the long-term strategic auxiliary programs vision and financial objectives; -Continually explore innovative opportunities for supporting school admissions and building the school\'s exposure in the independent school market; -Annually seek and analyze input from participants and staff regarding the quality of their program experience; Seek to identify partnerships that may enhance auxiliary program potential; -Supervise and support direct reports: Summer and Auxiliary Programs Associates and After Care staff and after school music teachers. -Ensure that Auxiliary and Summer Program participants have a safe and positive experience such that they return and/or recommend our programs to others. -Oversee and manage all auxiliary programs which includes: Primary/ Lower School (PK-3) and Middle School(4-5) After Care, Faculty Child Care on work days, after school instrumental program, and Fridays basketball programs; -Oversee and manage all summer programs, which includes: a 5-week summer multi-arts program and one week of speciality camps; The Director should have the energy and ambition to manage and develop Derby Academys Auxiliary and Summer Programs to the highest degree of educational excellence. They should be organized, attentive to detail, and motivated by an authentic interest in the experience of the participants in the programs. They should be driven by an entrepreneurial spirit while being resourceful, innovative, forward-thinking, and committed. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform essential functions of the job: 5-7 years of experience in summer/auxiliary program management, including 3-5 years in a leadership role Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and enhance mission-aligned programs Commitment to fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities Proven ability to develop and manage budgets effectively Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills Marketing expertise, including social media and digital platforms Collaborative team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the community Knowledge of youth development programming, regulations, and industry best practices Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google applications, database management, website development, and digital media Derby Academy is committed to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive educational community and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, religion, gender, color, veteran status, physical ability, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin or any other state or federally protected classifications.
