Who You Are
3-5 years’ hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Exposure to machining and steel forming manufacturing preferred.
A strong CI background and an understanding of Lean Principals with a proven record of successfully implementing improvements that yielded measurable gains.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSME or BS in Manufacturing Engineering preferred)
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop is desirable.
Occasional travel (<10%) may be required mostly to other SBD sites.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments as well as Lean Tools is expected.
Experience measuring manufacturing efficiency improvements and performing time-study/data driven improvements in a Lean environment is a must.
What You’ll Do
As a Lean Engineer, you’ll be part of our Global Tools & Storage team located in Holliston, MA. Specifically, you’ll:
Help to continue to drive a Lean cultural change in the Holliston facility and work with Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Value Stream leaders closely as well as outside Lean Leaders and Consultants.
Provides analysis and observational data on manufacturing processes and leads Kaizen events in support of identified need for improvements and change.
Documents process changes and quality plan changes depending on corrective actions, and trains users on changes as required
Designs and implements manufacturing process improvements from small to moderate complexity.
Participates in projects of all sizes and is assigned projects and tasks of small to moderate scope.
Works with design engineering and manufacturing engineering to help re-design products for lower cost while maintaining high quality, and ease of manufacturing.
Provides manufacturing implementation support for the introduction of new products, working with design engineering to ensure that necessary equipment, documentation, controls, training, etc. are implemented in accordance with our ISO9000 procedures.
Participates in group problem solving and issue resolution as necessary.
Provides training on manufacturing processes as needed, usually for process changes.
