Holyoke Community College Dir of Restorative Practices/Mediation in Holyoke, Massachusetts

Director of Restorative Practices/Mediation Holyoke Community College is seeking a Director of Restorative Practice and Mediation as a full-time salaried role reporting directly to the Vice President of People, Culture, and Equity. In this position, the director serves as a crucial role in fostering a harmonious and inclusive campus environment. This individual is responsible for developing and implementing remedial and curative programs, mediating conflicts, and promoting a culture of empathy and understanding. By facilitating open dialogue and resolution processes, the director addresses inter-personal and group conflicts, repair harm, and rebuild relationships within the community. Their efforts not only resolve disputes but also contribute to a supportive and connected campus where all members feel valued and heard. While primarily working with faculty and staff, the director will collaborate with other cross-departmental units to facilitate its work such as the Director of Community Standards and Well-Being, People and Talent (formerly Human Resources), Chief Impact Officer, academic departments, and deans to inform their work. This role focuses on cultivating a positive and inclusive environment by addressing conflict, building relationships, and promoting accountability through restorative approaches. This role is not a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) role. Key responsibilities include driving sustainable systems change through context-specific projects and resources, supporting the core values and mission of the institution and using that as a tool that can drive mindset changes with individuals, and design learning activities and curriculum development.
