Viability Employment Specialist in Holyoke, Massachusetts

We are looking for an Employment Specialist to work in our MOMS Partnership ® program, which reduces depressive symptoms for over-burdened under-resourced mothers by bringing mental health supports within reach. Viability is seeking an individual to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and community outreach workers.

Position: Employment Specialist

Location: Springfield/Holyoke, MA

Hours: Full and Part time hours available

Full time = 40 hours per week Part time= up to 25 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm; occasional nights and weekends

Summary: Provides culturally responsive services to help participants to reach their employment goals through group-based sessions, and one-on-one employment coaching (for example, help with resumes, practice interview skills, etc.) Facilitates engaging, supportive peer-to-peer groups designed to help participants set and achieve their stress management and employment goals and review goal progress. Connects participants to basic resources in the community to improve their ability to work and reduce their stress. Works with job developer to match program participants to jobs that align with their needs, abilities, and interests. Connects with employers as needed to support program participants in job placement, retention, and advancement with ongoing support if needed.

Qualifications: At minimum, a high school diploma or associates degree is needed with 3 years experience. Excellent organizational, verbal, telephone, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines. Communication and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Access. Broad basic computer knowledge, including web browsing, emailing, spreadsheets, and Word documents.
