JOB SUMMARY:

Performs multi-trade tasks in the repair and maintenance of plumbing, electrical and carpentry, physical structures in an assigned area ensuring proper safety and standards within the facility. Will complete preventative maintenance in its scheduled time. Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Demonstrates, promotes and integrates the Sisters of Providence Care Centers Mission and core values by:

  1. Perform carpentry repairs/construction and maintenance in all areas of the facility so as to provide an environment where all items function correctly and present a proper aesthetic appearance.

  2. Perform limited electrical repairs and maintenance to ensure that all electrical items are safe and function properly.

  3. Perform limited plumbing repairs and maintenance to ensure proper operation and safety.

  4. Perform limited repair, prep and painting of all walls in the facility to ensure safety and for proper aesthetic appearance.

  5. Work may require rescheduling regular scheduled hours, to be on-call on a rotating schedule and to work emergency overtime.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Work requires a high school level of educational development and six to twelve months of previous work related experience.

  2. No certification, registration or licensure required.

  3. Work requires the analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical and technical principles.

  4. Work requires the ability to read, write and understand English. Work requires the ability to respond to written and/or verbal instructions. Occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors, which involves ordinary courtesy.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Work requires lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.

  2. Work requires stooping and bending.

  3. Work requires ability to reach and grasp objects.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Requires working with equipment or performing procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle pulls.

  2. Requires working in close proximity to high voltage electrical current and/or moving machinery, or with power tools and equipment (table saws, drills, etc.), which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines, and equipment.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Reports to the lead Facility Operations position.

  2. Has no responsibility for leading or supervising the work of other employees.
