Medical Assistant - Holyoke Outpatient Clinic River Valley Counseling Center ? 303 Beech Street Holyoke, MA Aides/AssistantsFull Time, 40, varying shifts, 8 Req # 9697 RVCC is looking to hire a Medical Assistant - Holyoke Clinic River Valley Counseling Center, Inc\'s Mission is to improve the health of all people in our community. Overview of Job Responsibilities: Escort clients into clinical area and assist them physically, when required Document start time in EHR when client is roomed Take vital signs and document them in clients electronic health record Prepare client for Provider\'s visit, as required Obtain history of the current visit and document information in the client?s chart. Maintain, in conjunction with the Provider, current information regarding allergies, medications, and pertinent family history in the client?s problem and medication sections Ensure all prescriptions sent by fax from the pharmacies are forwarded to the provider and addressed in a timely manner. Determine, arrange and submit for appropriate follow-up care, including follow-up appointments, educational materials, diagnostic testing and third-party referrals; this process may occur in collaboration with the Provider and/or office assistant. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of non-Provider entries into the client?s electronic medical record (e.g. immunizations, medical supplies). Job Requirements: Education Level - High school graduate or GED; successful completion of a medical assistant training program Years of Experience - 1?2 years as a medical assistant preferred Skills/Abilities - Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; crisis intervention skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; computer skills; good customer relations skills; knowledge of legal and ethical issues pertaining to the profession. Licensing/Certification - Current CPR certification and Medical Assistant Certificate.
