Join our team of compassionate Direct Care professionals in our Developmental Services Residential program at Behavioral Health Network! If you are hired as a per diem employee in the Developmental Services program, you will work on an as-needed basis rather than following a set schedule. In a residential direct care role, this means you will fill open shifts when regular staff members are unavailable or when extra help is needed. You can typically choose which shifts you want to work, giving you more flexibility than a full-time or part-time schedule. However, you are only paid for the hours you work, and there is no guarantee of a set number of hours. This setup is ideal for people who want a flexible work option and are able to step in on short notice to support individuals living in a residential program. We have openings in all shifts and multiple locations around the Pioneer Valley-Western Mass! (Florence, Amherst, Springfield) Direct Care Workers provide services to individuals in group homes that support the growth, independence, and safety of individuals in all settings. They monitor their overall health and well-being by assisting and monitoring daily living and encouraging independence, competency and decision-making. Direct Care Workers initiate, support and ensure quality of life through empowerment, safety awareness, respect and dignity. Assist with all aspects of medication treatment and provide related activities to document and support the services provided to individuals. Provide crisis intervention and emergencies. Plan and provide opportunities for community activities and maintain, enhance and foster social support networks and relationships. In the Residential Support Services program at BHN, we provide 24-hour staffed residential services, individual and family support services, a social club, and an advocacy program. Each person we serve is part of a team that includes family, BHN staff, and other providers who work together to assess the individual?s needs and goals and then create and maintain a plan reflecting strengths, capabilities and desires. Qualifications/Requirements Residential Support Specialists at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities: Commitment to empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration of individuals/persons served (required). High school diploma or G.E.D. (required). Valid driver\'s license and a reliable car available for working hours (required). Minimum of six months experience in human services (preferred).
