State of Massachusetts Mental Health Worker I - Temporary in Hyannis, Massachusetts
This is a temporary position to cover an individual on a leave of absence.
Work Schedule (40 hours) 3:45pm - 12:15am
Days off: Wednesday/Thursday
This position is assigned to the Community Based Flexible Support Program (CBFS); works as primary for assigned persons served by direct one to one contact to provide each person living in the community with a key person to assist them in all areas and to aid them in the implementation of their Individual Action Plan. As a member of the multidisciplinary team participates in the development and implementation of the Individual Action Plan through direct contact and assists in teaching the necessary skills to live successfully in the community. At treatment team meetings presents psychosocial, mental status and diagnosis, treatment provided and treatment planned for assigned cases to ensure documentation is in the compliance with standards and regulations. Responsible for securing appropriate services for persons served by working with other programs within the agency as well as the community such as SSI, Mass rehab, day programs, psychiatric and medical services to assure persons served receive optimum care. Responsible for the knowledge of all medications used within the program, including the indications, risks, and side effects and knowledge and implementation of persons served medication procedure, in order to teach persons served all aspects of their medication through supervision of program nursing, all medication related material, MAP training and any other available trainings. Responsible for maintaining a therapeutic atmosphere through professional performance and attitude to promote quality care and person served growth.
Please note in accordance with an agreement between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health and AFSCME/Council 93, employees assigned to a work unit where the Medication Administration Program (MAP) is used are required to pass MAP certification within 6 months of entering the position or 3 examination opportunities, whichever comes first. Employees are required to maintain MAP certification as long as you are working in said program.

The Pocasset Mental Health Center is a Joint Commission certified facility.
