Lawrence General Hospital Executive Director of Quality in Lawrence, Massachusetts

The Executive Director of Quality leads all aspects of strategic and operational planning and performance to achieve the Hospital’s vision as a high quality, high value organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing organization-wide Performance Improvement, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement programs consistent with Board approved plans, organizational goals, as well as regulatory and standard-setting agencies while supporting and contributing to strategic, organizational programs.

Duties and responsibilities include leading all aspects of Strategic and Operational planning and performance to achieve LGH's vision as a high quality, high value organization; aligning quality goals and targets of both the IPA/PHO and the Hospital; developing plans and achieving quality targets at both physician practice and hospital level; leading the development of an organization-wide process improvement (Lean) plan, including education and initiation of specific projects; ensuring all quality, safety and patient satisfaction targets are met to achieve maximum reimbursement related to quality from all government and private payors; leading regulatory compliance related to the Joint Commission, DPH, CMS and other regulatory bodies; ensuring “everyday readiness” for compliance; developing and leading service line quality programs with key physician and clinician leaders; preparing LGH and physicians for success in future value-based purchasing payment methodology from Medicare; developing and leading annual operating plan pillar tactics for Quality and Safety; actively engaging and collaborating with BIDMC Quality Department for networking, support and integration.

Bachelors' Degree in related field and five years' hospital experience in a significant administrative or clinical position required as well as a minimum of three years' of direct responsibility for system-wide Quality Improvement program for both clinical and non-clinical processes. Must have excellent communication skills, ability to analyze complex issues and solve them creatively and possess strong leadership skills relative to motivating and developing multidisciplinary teams to be successful. A results-driven and professional, ethical and positive image attitude regarding the organization a must. Masters' Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field required.
