Massachusetts Employer Family Services Worker in Lawrence, Massachusetts

OVERVIEW: The Family Service Worker will provide services to families with current state child-care financial assistance working with Child Care Circuit, staff at Child Care Circuit and the programs and Educators that service our families. DUTIES: In partnership with parents, the Family Worker develops mutually trusting relationships, acts as an advocate for families, and provides support services as needed. Assist families in determining their needs and in identifying and developing goals to meet those needs. Work with child-care programs to assist with placements for at risk children and provide staff training where required. Support programs in completing EEC paperwork for state funding, which can provide essential resources and personnel to assist individual children as needed. Build liaisons with other community agencies that will ensure cooperation, coordination, and information sharing. Work collaboratively with CCC staff where appropriate to provide comprehensive, integrated services for families. Collaborate on strategies to effectively support parents and families with special needs or at-risk children who require our services. Assist staff in comprehending the available resources for aiding families and staying updated on community resources and contemporary trends in social services. REQUIREMENTS: Valid LCSW/LICSW License or Bachelor\'s Degree in social work, psychology, child development or a related field required or one-year case management or home visiting experience or working with at-risk families. Experience communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing. Experience with record keeping including progress notes and maintenance of required documentation Experience working with a low income, ethnically and culturally diverse population. Experience working effectively as a member of a team and who is highly organized and has effective time management skills. Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese language a plus. Desire to continuously seek knowledge and best practices in the early childhood, child development, and parenting fields Completed CORI, SORI, and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Must provide evidence of reliable, insured transportation available for travel during working hours. Driver must provide evidence of a valid driver\'s license in good standing.
