The Physical Therapist is responsible for performing student evaluations, as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with plan of care developed for each student and per physician’s orders when applicable.

Locations: Lawrence Public School

Position: Physical Therapist - Long Term Sub (6 months)

Start: ASAP!

Duration: March, 2025

Schedule: Monday - Friday full time

Pay: $65 /hour

Job Description:

• Planning:

• Designing the physical therapy program so that it is consistent with the total educational philosophy of the district.

• Continuing professional growth through educational meetings, visiting related facilities, reading professional literature, and exchanging ideas among the district staff.

• Working in coordination with other special education teachers and related service personnel in planning and developing the program.

• Programming:

• Identifying strengths and weaknesses of referred special education students.

• Preparing, implementing, and evaluating an annual educational plan for each student based on individually assessed needs and in accordance with district procedures.

• Preparing, implementing, and evaluating a plan of care for each student in accordance with district policies.

• Public Relations:

• Cooperating with school personnel in coordinating special education services within that school.

• Developing and conducting an in-service program to inform classroom teacher of the goals and objectives of the physical therapy program and ways of achieving them in the school setting

  Experience Needed:

• Bachelor's degree

• Licensed as a physical therapist by the MA Board of Allied Health Professionals.

• Graduate work beyond bachelor's degree, experience in similar position, expertise in pediatric therapy
