Kelly Services Controls Engineer in Leominster, Massachusetts

Senior Controls Engineer (12-Month Contract)

Location: Leominster, MA

Overview:

The Senior Controls Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the client's manufacturing operations by designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical controls engineering, with a focus on Rockwell/Allen Bradley hardware and Wonderware platforms. This position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing processes, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA integration.

  • Provide technical support for existing control systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.

  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve control system issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure control systems meet production requirements and safety standards.

  • Lead the process of controls engineering, including planning, execution, and documentation.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies to ensure the use of best practices in control system design and implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering.

  • Strong proficiency in Rockwell/Allen Bradley hardware and software (PLC, HMI, SCADA).

  • In-depth knowledge of Wonderware platforms.

  • Experience with control system design and implementation for manufacturing processes (e.g., blending, extrusion).

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with power systems and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety Training).

  • Project management experience.

  • Experience with legacy control systems.

  • This is a 12-month contract position.
