Job Description

Job Title : EHS System Sustainment Manager

Location : Lexington, MA

About the role:

As an EHS System Sustainment Manager, you will adopt, sustain, and support of Takeda's important EHS Information Systems. You will also provide daily support in troubleshooting for Takeda's EHS IMS systems (e.g., report/dashboard development, access requests, error identification). You will monitor application use and adoption to identify areas of improvement for a better user experience. You will report to the Lead, EHS Business Systems.

How you will contribute:

  • Monitor overall EHS IMS end-user adoption metrics and report on the health of the program.

  • Oversee end-user needs and developing, coordinating deployment, and maintaining associated training.

  • Work with EHS Business Systems Lead to identify potential areas where updates to business processes are needed and translate the requirements to IT.

  • Work with EHS DD&T team, assure support tickets on EHS systems are resolved promptly.

  • Collaborate with EHS System Department lead in the identification of adoption or sustainment issues; facilitate root cause analysis discussions and develop plans for mitigation.

  • Support quarterly improvement EHS system programs and work with EHS DD&T teams on implementation and rollout.

  • Work with EHS Systems team in the design, buildout, testing of standard reports and dashboards (both in current EHS IMS tools and PowerBI). Will be responsible for support of dashboard after launch.

  • Support training programs, including monthly global training sessions, quarterly office hours, and site-specific refresher training plans.

  • Support monthly review and launch of Global EHS Metrics dashboard, including adding/removing new metrics.

  • Contribute to quarterly EHS IT goals planning to align to current Global EHS needs.

  • Work with local EHS Site team members on reviewing current system gaps, and provide detailed recommendations and requirements for future system updates.

  • Participate in design sessions led by EHS Business system lead with the subject matter experts to identify opportunities for improvement in the business process or to update current processes to align to new or changing requirements.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Management, or Management Information Systems (other management, communication, engineering, or science-related degrees will be considered).

  • 5-7 years EHS systems experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with global application adoption and sustainability projects, including training and communication would be ideal.

  • Demonstrated experience with EHS information management system solution architecture would be ideal.

  • Experience with data analytics and operational excellence and continuous improvement practices would be ideal.

  • Have experience of the principles of IT System end-user adoption, the measures of success and methods to communicate the value drivers.

  • Basic knowledge of EHS standards. Expand current knowledge and translate this knowledge to system-based processes.

  • Posses advanced technical skills and their application to EHS Information Management systems (Intelex would be ideal).

  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and PowerBI.

  • Support analysis of complex EHS situations and topics when the solution is not clear.

  • Create commendations related to EHS IMS to EHS IT Systems Leads.

  • Work (in collaboration with EHS IT Systems Team) with multiple tasks across the company as they work with the EHS IMS or use new functionality, including Global Engineering, Global IT, R&D, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and HR.

  • Incorporate continuous improvement methodologies and tools into EHS IMS tools.

  • Work on multiple concurrent projects.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$108,500.00 - $170,500.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
