About the Job
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Practice/Site manager/Coordinator and following established procedures, performs a variety of duties including assisting patients as they arrive for their scheduled visits and escorting them into the practice from their cars, performing various clerical support duties such as mail, answering phones, making patient phone calls to confirm visits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Alerts Patients upon their arrival of all necessary safety protocols to be followed during their visit to the practice. Escort: Properly and safely confirms patient identifiers to assure patient has a scheduled visit. Alerts the patient to any wait times. Ushers the patient in from their cars directly to the exam room. Answers any general questions about the patient’s visit or about the practice. Alerts the appropriate Medical Assistant that the patient has been roomed.
Messenger: Transports incoming and outgoing messages to a patient who may be awaiting their visit. Alerts front desk team should the patient need a follow up visit.
May assist with clerical duties such as making copies, filing, occasional entry of information into Epic. May assist in patient mailings and other clerical projects.
Incorporates our Guiding Principles, CREATE and PROMISE standards , Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
Complies with all employment Policies.
Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.
Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.
Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: None required
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Must be able to read, write and comprehend English and perform alpha-numeric sorting. In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
Experience: 6 months of experience in a customer service driven industry. Healthcare preferred.
