Description
Title: Lead Test Engineer
Location: Lexington, MA
Clearance: Secret eligibility
LinQuest is seeking a Lead Test Engineer in Lexington, MA to join our team that develops, builds and operates prototype space and airborne lasercom terminals, and develops test capabilities to validate interoperability among various contractor-produced terminals.
Responsibilities:
Lead a small team in the testing and maintaining of test assets used in the development of laser communications systems
Identify key requirements, create test plans, and apply a programming and scripting skill set to implement system and unit-level tests
Design, develop and execute operational scripts and unit tests for use in wireless communications systems
Schedule resources needed to support critical test events
Lead the hands-on diagnosis of issues which arise during the integration and testing process, and work closely with software, firmware, and hardware teams to identify and remedy issues
Troubleshoot system issues by applying a working knowledge of system architecture including software, firmware, optical components, and system associated custom-built and off-the-shelf test equipment to identify root cause for system failures
Coordinate and interface with external organizations that use the test facilities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
15+ years of relevant professional experience in test and evaluation
Experience with Digital and Wireless Radio/Communications Technology
Experience with system test planning and test execution; writing and executing detailed test plans and procedures
Experience in troubleshooting system level problems
Experience with Linux operating system
Experience with system-level integration of software and hardware components to test and validate system performance
Ability to apply programming skills to efficiently implement test procedures and troubleshoot system operation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision
Good organizational skills: demonstrated ability to quickly understand the full breadth of complex prototype systems
Ability to accurately document various on-going activities
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship is required)
Preferred experience/skillset:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
Active DoD Secret clearance
Experience with optical communication systems
Experience with C/C++, Java, Python, Bash and Matlab
Strong background in and experience with Linux, Shell Scripting
Understanding of digital communications, software engineering, and computer architecture
Familiarity with change management and bug tracking tools
Familiarity with computer systems, data acquisition, networking, and remote control of instruments
