Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor

Location : Lexington, MA

About the role:

Delivers leadership and excellence in manufacturing processing and scheduling to meet site demands. Manages the floor operations to ensure safety and compliance with cGMPs are maintained at all times. Oversees the planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing operations for new and/or existing products and technologies in a cGMP environment. Collaborate with support groups to ensure accurate and well managed transfer of process changes/improvements to floor operations. Integrate best practices, where appropriate, into manufacturing. Ensures the efficiency of material, equipment and personnel in day to day operations. Monitor departmental operating expenses (OT, Equipment, Supplies) and assist in developing budgets.

How you will contribute:

  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring compliance with MBR/MFR, SOP, and safety guidelines.

  • Develop and provide technical instruction on new/improved processes to Manufacturing personnel.

  • Monitor and control labor and group expenses.

  • Interview and select candidates, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill sets.

  • Provide effective leadership, including goal setting, performance reviews, and managing performance issues.

  • Ensure employees work safely and compliantly, meeting Individual Training Record (ITR) targets.

  • Schedule, track, and evaluate training completion and effectiveness.

  • Issue quality deviations or safety investigations and implement corrective actions.

  • Provide technical expertise to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure production targets are met.

  • Maintain operational metrics, author/revise SOPs and Batch Records, and support process improvements and transfers.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree and 3+ years experience as a Lead or Supervisor in a GMP Manufacturing facility. or an equivalent level of education and/or related experience is acceptable. Experience with systems such as SAP, LIMS and TrackWise a plus.

  • Operational knowledge of aseptic technique, clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) and general biopharmaceutical production equipment. Demonstrated application in practical root cause analysis methodologies.

  • Knowledge of cGMP’s and applicable agency regulations (such as the FDA, EMEA) to ensure inspection readiness of department.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$84,000.00 - $132,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
