Security Officer - Concord, MA

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Location: Concord, MA

Position Overview:

Securitas Security Services is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to join our team at a private boarding school in Concord, MA. The ideal candidate will provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while maintaining a visible and professional presence on campus. This role requires excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensuring the safety of this school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol the campus, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to detect any suspicious activity or security breaches.

  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security breaches.

  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary.

  • Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment to ensure proper functioning.

  • Assist in managing access control by checking IDs and screening visitors and vendors at designated entrances.

  • Write detailed incident reports and document any unusual occurrences or accidents.

  • Conduct security checks on school vehicles, dormitories, classrooms, and event spaces as required.

  • Ensure proper security measures are in place during school events, activities, and extracurricular programs.

  • Offer general assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed.

  • Promote a culture of safety through proactive communication and education.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); college degree or relevant certifications in security or criminal justice (preferred).

  • Prior experience in security or law enforcement (preferred).

  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use security systems and reporting tools.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

  • Must be physically capable of walking, standing, and patrolling large areas for extended periods of time.

  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Work Schedule:

  • Shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to ensure 24/7 security coverage.

  • On-call responsibilities may be required during peak times or emergencies.
