The Senior Director Clinical Marketing - Ostomy Care (Leader of Global Sales Effectiveness and Clinical Marketing) oversees the development of clinical marketing content to include sales tools that highlight the clinical value proposition of Ostomy Care value prop. They can simplify and synthesize clinical concepts in a way that is easily understood to non-medical audiences, such as patients, caregivers, and sales representatives. This is a crucial role focused on equipping the commercial facing teams globally with the clinical marketing content, sales tools, and clinical product training they need to succeed.
This leader and their team develop and implement sales enablement materials, and ensures clear alignment between sales, marketing, and the medical affairs teams. They are the connection point between the global marketing and med affairs team to the regional marketing and sales teams to coordinate and package all marketing campaigns, product launches and clinical training in a consistent way that is easy for the regional marketing and sales team to understand and use.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership and vision on how to differentiate the Ostomy Care offering with simple, synthesized, and relevant clinical marketing messaging that resonates with health care professionals and patient caregivers.
Lead the strategic creation of the Ostomy Care’s clinical marketing content to be deployed in marketing campaigns, programs, and the website.
Partners proactively with the Medical Affairs Director and team to ensure strong alignment and prioritization of clinical studies and scientific work with the business priorities and marketing campaign calendar.
Ensure effectiveness of clinical marketing messaging by measuring efficacy for specific customer and market segments. Propose and deploy necessary adjustments to continuously improve as market conditions and product offerings change.
Collaborate with medical affairs and product marketing on ad-hoc trainings on clinical topics. products, competitors, as needed. To include the development of clinical training content and tools.
Coordinate with sales and marketing to ensure sales tools, marketing collateral and training content are easy to find and use.
Determine education priorities and programs based on key strategic imperatives, product launches, and educational needs.
Leads a team of marketing content managers, Marketing Sales tool expert, clinical education specialist and graphic designer.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
15+ years combination of marketing and sales experience, in medical device/pharmaceutical/or life sciences (sale leadership and/or sales training experience is highly desirable)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Highly collaborative, hands-on leadership style with a focus on driving measurable results and process improvements.
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional changes and continuous process improvements.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proven record of managing transformational, and multi-disciplinary commercial change initiatives.
A solid understanding of how people learn and retain information and how they go through a change.
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
Experience with Agile marketing is desirable.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- The position may involve travel up to 20% of the time, mostly within North America and Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Hybrid working –2 to 3 days per week in the office driven by business requirements as Convatec has a flexible approach to office working .
Preference for proximity to London or Lexington, MA offices.
