MIT Lincoln Laboratory Signal Processing Engineer in Lexington, Massachusetts

The RF Technology Group develops and demonstrates innovative radio-frequency (RF) solutions to emerging national security needs in radar, electronic warfare (EW), signals intelligence (SIGINT), and special communications. In carrying out its mission, the group creates components and systems using novel hardware and algorithm techniques. A particular emphasis is made on highly integrated RF systems underpinned by advanced signal processing. The group actively collaborates with research teams across the Laboratory to take projects from initial concept, through design, prototyping, simulation and analysis, and finally, to field demonstration.

Job Description - Signal Processing Engineer

The RF Technology group seeks a full-time signal processing engineer. The candidate will lead and contribute to research, development, implementation, and testing of signal processing aspects of next generation RF systems. The candidate is expected to work with teams of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers in design and testing of related algorithms, hardware, software, and support equipment.

Requirements:

• Candidates should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a background in signal processing. In lieu of a PhD, a Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience will be considered.

Desired:

• Extensive knowledge of radar- or communications-related processing and concepts, detection and estimation, filter design, beam forming, adaptive signal processing, Bayesian estimation and target tracking, and similar.

• Experience with RF systems, particularly sensors and communications.

• Digital signal processing; algorithm implementation in software, GPU, or FPGA.

• Signal processing development with MATLAB, Julia, Python, C/C++, or similar.
