KBR is seeking a System Engineer to join our team in Lexington, MA. You will join an Advanced Lasercomm Systems team that is involved in a synergistic combination of research, proof-of-concept test beds, and system engineering/application efforts focused on the goals of enhancing the capacity, the robustness to interference, and the flexibility of future generations of laser communications systems. This is a fully onsite (customer facility) position.

Key Responsibilities:
Implementing software bug fixes and feature enhancements for an enterprise software system.
Appling a strong programming and scripting skill set to design, develop, and execute system and unit-level tests.
Supporting upgrades of third-party software interfaces.
Troubleshooting and resolution of issues during integration, testing, and deployment phases.
Ongoing support and maintenance of software environments.

Required Qualifications:
US Citizenship and ability to obtain an active Top Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields is required
10+ years of relevant professional experience in systems engineering, software development, test and evaluation
Troubleshooting system level problems
Scripting using shell and/or Python
Linux
System test planning and test execution
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision
Desired:
Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Familiarity with Java and/or C++
Familiarity with fundamentals of networking and distributed computing environments, and TCP/IP and UDP protocols
Familiarity with Matlab
Familiarity with Elasticsearch database
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
Familiarity with third-party software packages such as ITOS or COSMOS, and GMSEC MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Active Top Secret clearance
