MIT Lincoln Laboratory Technician A (I.C.) in Lexington, Massachusetts

Job Description

Candidate will work in the class 10 clean room of the Microelectronics Laboratory supporting a broad range of activities in the Advanced Technology Division manufacturing deep submicron devices, charge-coupled devices, and micro mechanical structures. Primary responsibility will be to monitor, prioritize, and process all work in progress within a specific process area and to provide clear and accurate inter-shift pass-down of such work. The goal of this position is to produce completed wafers with excellent quality and low cycle time. Additional responsibilities shall include but not be limited to: Perform SPC tasks and monitor and respond appropriately to data, interface with engineering and Program Originators on research projects and support the development of new processes and/or routine maintenance as required.

Qualifications required of applicant:

  • Graduation from a two-year technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of five years formal training in electronics, semiconductor fabrication or chemistry is required.

    Experience:

  • Candidate must have at least five years’ experience operating semiconductor processing equipment in a silicon semiconductor fabrication facility.

  • Previous experience in photolithography, wet and dry etch, thin films, diffusion, CMP, or ion implant is required

  • Knowledge of various metrology tools such as spectroscopic ellipsometers, optical and scanning-electron microscopes, and Surfscan would be beneficial.

  • The ability to write and edit metrology jobs is a plus.

    Skills:

  • Candidate should be well organized, detail oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. • Able to follow process instructions accurately and consistently.

  • This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment advancing the state of the art and creating highly innovative electronic devices.

  • The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a solid work ethic.

  • Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills

  • The candidate will document tool operation via SOP's.

  • Reliable (Solid attendance)

  • Operate a variety of semiconductor processing equipment.

  • Understand equipment operation and be able to identify potential problems with the equipment through observation and to escalate resolution to the next level
