Middlesex Community College Early College Promise Coordinator in Lowell, Massachusetts

Early College Promise Coordinator General Summary: The Early College Promise Coordinator, working out of the Division of Education and K-16 Partnerships, will be responsible for the recruitment, retention and management of Early College Promise students. The Coordinator will direct the case management and academic planning for individual students and their respective retention and completion goals. The Coordinator will work c Duties and Responsibilities: Achieve individual student caseload retention and completion goals as established by the LHS/MCC Partnership Assist with the planning and implementation of all ECP student activities, communications and related events. Carry out and be accountable for individual caseload outreach and intervention Create and manage student progress tracking dashboard Empower students to develop and accomplish their personal, academic, and professional goals. Guide students to develop personal accountability for their decisions and an understanding of how those decisions impact their success Maintain current knowledge of academic and occupational degree requirements, graduation requirements, transfer requirements and pre-requisite requirements to advise students toward completion. Exercise professional discretion and judgement, to help students create a personal completion plan. Manage and advise student cohorts regarding course registration, admissions process, financial aid, career services and other related topics Contribute to the development and formulation of policy in alignment with grant parameters as required by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Handle confidential decision making and policy making matters related to student progress reporting Collaborate with the Dean of Education and K-16 Partnerships, Director of Concurrent and Dual Enrollment, and Coordinator of Early College Programs to ensure alignment across related departmental initiatives and strategic goals Refer students to appropriate internal and community-based programs and support services. Initiate contact with faculty, ombudsman, Center for Student Success and other departments to assist students with questions and needs utilizing a total case management model. Manage early alert interventions for respective caseload Serve as a liaison with MCC academic advisors and departments. Attend departmental and advisory meetings to remain current on program offerings, career/occupational outlook and other departmental information. Develop student success, retention, and completion materials and presentations to support individual and group sessions Develop grant reports and meet all DHE-DESE reporting due dates and deadlines Research, analyze, and interpret DESE policies and data reports to ensure program compliance Act as a liaison between Middlesex Community College and Lowell High School May be responsible for direct supervision of support staff within department Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree from four-year college or university in a related field At least (3) years\' full-time, direct, paid experience in an urban high school or higher education setting or case management experience Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively and use independent judgment with staff at Middlesex Community College and Lowell High School Ability to make independent decisions regarding program implementation Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience collecting, analyzing and developing data reports Preferred Qualifications: Master\'s degree from a regionally accredited university or currently working towards Master\'s Degree completion. Previous experience developing and implementing outreach plans and success strategies.
