Eliot Community Human Services Housing Court Clinician in Lowell, Massachusetts

Description

Due to increased funding/expansion, Eliot Community Human Services is seeking an additional creative, compassionate, and skilled mental health professional to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting tenancy preservation for vulnerable adults within the Merrimack Valley and North Shore regions.

There are many opportunities for advanced clinical training (Cognitive Restructuring, EMDR) and personal/professional growth given Eliot's continued growth and commitment to staff enrichment/retention.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide clinical assessment of individuals or families at risk of eviction due to problematic disabling conditions, referred by the City of Cambridge and North Shore.

  • Provide program clinician presence in housing court sessions as scheduled weekly and establish regular communication with housing court staff and judges on cases.

  • To create individual case management plans, including outcomes, to prevent homelessness and stabilize current housing situation if possible by addressing disabling conditions.

  • To provide linkage across agencies through intensive case management and recovery coaches as needed

  • Provide program clinician presence in housing court sessions as scheduled weekly

  • Informally mediate disputes between Tenants/Landlord

Schedule: Flexible - 40hrs per week

  • Bilingual: Advanced

Education

Required

  • MA or better in Psychology

Licenses & Certifications

  • MA DRIVER'S LICENSE

Experience

Required

  • -Knowledge/experience in working with homeless adults with mental illness and/or substance abuse co-occurring disorders.

  • -Experience with dispute medication.

  • -Knowledge of housing resources and court system required.
