Job Description

This is a non-exempt position responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, you may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. You will perform routine assignments according to specified and/or standardized procedures, with your work closely and continually reviewed. Your role includes ensuring that relevant job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up-to-date. Clear communication of ideas, problems, and solutions to all levels of manufacturing management in both written and oral form is essential. You will maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers, follow safety guidelines, and utilize appropriate safety devices when performing all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure relevant job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Clearly communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to all levels of manufacturing management.

  • Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal customers and external customers such as tours.

  • Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices.

  • Participate in continuous improvement/quality initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve quality and profitability metrics.

  • Maintain accurate records to ensure traveler and quality documents are accurate, all parts are traceable, and quality issues can be addressed.

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing.

  • Participate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager in setting and monitoring individual goals and cell performance metrics.

  • Support all divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and understand and follow verbal instructions.

  • Utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.

  • Prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance.

  • Handle and maneuver small components and parts.

  • Make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures.

  • Understanding and ability to follow verbal instructions.

  • Ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.

  • Ability to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance.

  • High school degree or equivalent required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.

  • Must be able to follow instructions per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided.

  • Awareness that the position is in an ISO8 clean room, requiring gowning, safety glasses, and compliance with specific dress code requirements.

Work Environment

This role is based in an ISO8 clean room environment, requiring strict adherence to gowning and hygiene protocols. Employees must wear safety glasses, shoe and hair coverings, and beard covers if applicable. The dress code includes non-shedding clothing free of frayed hems or loose threads. Closed-toe shoes, stockings or socks, and clean, non-contaminated clothing are mandatory. Employees must avoid wearing makeup, jewelry, fragrances, and certain fabrics that could compromise the clean room environment. The work environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to detailed procedures to ensure the quality and traceability of all products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
