Applied Materials Pharma Quality Assurance Software Engineer II (E2) in Lowell, Massachusetts

The role of the APG Pharma Groups Software QA Engineer is to ensure delivery of the SmartFactory Rx suite of applications according the quality management system guidelines as set forth by the QA Manager and QA Lead.

General Profile

To support the software developers to assist in implementing quality through the product lifecycle. To assist in the construction and implementation of a quality management system including testing and validation that will be accepted by customers and regulators of the Pharma industry. The QA Engineer should have a background knowledge of full stack software architecture, scripting, python, experience with visual studio, C#, experience in software testing, and software testing automation tools like Selenium.

Key Responsibilities

Execute tests to comply with regulatory adherence to: 21CFR11, GAMP 4/5, EU Annex 11, ISO 9000/5000/15000 Execute tests to comply with AMAT Pharma SDLC (Software Design Life-Cycle) process

  • Create test plans

  • Document test cases

  • Perform and document risk analysis

  • Record test progress and results

  • Code automated tests

  • Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness

  • Discover bugs within software

  • Drive innovation and streamline overall testing processes

  • Identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing

  • Identify any potential problems that users might encounter

  • Perform manual and automated testing

  • Research and analyze product features being tested

  • Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes

  • Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality

Develop and execute testing engineering plans and manage QA testing schedules and resource allocation and budget Supports Product release requirements and documentation/packaging are met Conducts broad and comprehensive analysis of key industry trends, regulatory and technology to assist in the validation of GMP software Interfaces and coordinates with internal customers (SW, HW, PO) to define project objectives, provide status updates and prepare for release and deployment.


Education: Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent

Skills: Full Stack, scripting, C#, visual studio, Automated Test Software (like Selenium), Manual Test Software, .NET, Angular, general database understanding

Years of Experience: 5-8 Years in Computer Software Validation and/or QA

Travel: Yes, 5% of the Time

Location: Remote or office based
