Tufts Medicine Pharmacy Inventory Tech in Lowell, Massachusetts

Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacy Operation Manager & the Pharmacy Charge and Inventory Analyst, maintains and analyzes inventory levels. Facilitate the management of medication inventory by making sure the drug counts are correct and are within dates. Supports pharmacy buyer in inventory management including receiving, ordering and facilitating returns.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains expert level competence in Epic, Verity and other vendor software as required to execute inventory control.

  • Perform weekly and quarterly cycle count inventory and adjust any negative balances.

  • Run balance changes report for both campuses daily.

  • Maintains and adjust Par/Optimum/preferred NDC for purchasing.

  • Perform cycle counts inventories including counting, investigating and rectifying discrepancies.

  • Responsible for importing and exporting of drug inventory cycle count files in the system to maintain compliance within the department policy.

  • Ability to run and review inventory reports from the pharmacy system.

  • Facilitates the management of medication inventories by; making sure the drugs are within date and rotate inventory as necessary.

  • Ensure the storage areas are clean and organized

  • Familiar on how to place orders for medications, supplies and other materials as required by the department, in accordance with Hospital and Department policies and procedures.

  • Supports buyer on maintaining, managing and documenting recalls.

  • Support buyer on tracking and account for all transfers, drop ships, and lending and borrowing of pharmaceutical products.

  • In conjunction with Pharmacy IT, develop and maintain a process for maintaining NDCs, and barcodes in the pharmacy system.

  • Participate in department meetings, and pharmacist practice council.

  • Support buyer on coordinating house wide annual and biannual pharmacy inventory.

  • Support buyer on managing, maintain and ensure compliance the Massachusetts free vaccine program.

  • Performs all other tasks promptly as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in Massachusetts
