Job Description:

Ferguson is the largest wholesale distributor of residential and commercial plumbing supplies and pipe, valves and fittings in the U.S. The company is also a major distributor of HVAC equipment, fire protection systems, waterworks and industrial products and services. Ferguson and its subsidiaries serve customers in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Sales Manager covering the New England territory for our Waterworks division.

Position Details

  • Direct oversite of 9 Outside Sales Representatives

  • Position can be based out of any of our 6 locations which include: Newington, CT; Ludlow, MA; Canton, MA; Worcester, MA; South Yarmouth, MA; and North Reading, MA

  • Market opportunity of $80M - $100M

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure outstanding service levels

  • Assign, monitor, set objectives for key accounts and Sales Representatives to generate sales growth

  • Provide leadership and direction for pricing proposals and strategic plans

  • Accompany Sales Reps on customer calls

  • Supervise market activity, sales trends and product performance

  • Build sales plans and prepare sales strategies

  • Develop, lead, direct and evaluate a team of outside sales professionals

  • Effectively supervise and lead individual Sales Representatives’ budgets and performance

  • Support business and sales initiatives through effective and efficient performance of self and team

Requirements

  • 7+ years of sales and management experience in the construction industry

  • Able to work in a strong team environment and have a team player background

  • Familiarity with the local market is a plus

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups

  • Ability to lead, mentor and empower individuals and teams

  • Must have valid driver’s license. Heavy travel required
