Massachusetts Employer Behavioral Health Referral Navigator in Lynn, Massachusetts

Position Title: Behavioral Health Referral Navigator Position Summary: The Behavioral Health (BH) Referral Navigator will work closely with the BH providers (psychopharm and therapy), managers of practice, access, and operations to support efficient workflows. The BH Referral Navigator is responsible for scheduling internal and external referral appointments. The BH Referral Navigator will complete and document work accurately and in a timely manner. The BH Referral Navigator will assist the psychopharmacology providers with processing refills, patient and pharmacy communications, and prior authorizations, if needed. The BH Referral Navigator will schedule behavioral health appointments for all patients discharged from hospitals or Emergency Departments. The BH Referral Navigator will process and route incoming and outgoing correspondence and telephone calls for BH providers (psychopharmacology and therapy) and communicate with patients when needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Education \Associate?s degree and/or equivalent administrative experience in health programs, or combination of education and experience preferred Experience \Prior experience with health care operations preferred \Experience in continuous improvement leading, implementing, and sustaining change initiatives, preferred \Bilingual English/Spanish preferred \Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EHR) and Microsoft Office \Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and managed health care plans preferred Personal Skills and Attributes \Effective communication skills exhibiting professionalism when dealing with patients, providers, staff, and external partners. \Knowledge of health access and social issues, and ability to effectively interact with low- income urban populations, with minority and culturally diverse populations. \Ability to work independently and have good time management and judgement skills. BH Referral Navigator \Self-motivated with the ability to demonstrate positive work attitude and inspire others. \Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information for both patients and employees. \Ability to demonstrate satisfactory time and attendance. \Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing multiple competing tasks and demands. \Ability to seek and use assistance, as appropriate. \Demonstrate ability to listen without bias, think critically, and focus on goal-oriented tasks. \Requires proficiency with computer systems. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Epic, and insurances preferred. \Be passionate about meeting and exceeding goals. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The essential duties of this position present risk of exposure to airborne infection, body fluids, and blood- borne pathogen. Annual BBP Training is required. Up to date immunization, annual TB testing/questionnaire required. Hepatitis B vaccine, annual flu immunization and Covid-19 vaccine are strongly recommended. All necessary vaccines are avai able at no charge.
