About this Position

The T901 Mechanical Systems team is responsible for the design, analysis, test, and qualification of the T901 engine Accessory Gearbox (AGB). This role consists of hardware ownership of the casting gearbox housings and the subsequent machined housing. Additionally, you will participate in manufacturing quality problem solving, non-conformance assessments, assembly support and troubleshooting, and test support and troubleshooting.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Owns the T901 AGB casting and machined housings, including aspects of design, analysis, testing, and qualification.

  • Supports cross-functional teams to meet design requirements and mitigate test challenges during the T901 Test and Qualification program.

  • Collaborates with T901 AGB and MSE members (gears, bearings, seals) as well as lead horizontal teams in problem solving issues with hardware.

  • Increase production readiness of the current design, including MRB reduction, producibility design changes, cost-out projects, and weight reduction projects consistent with T901 goals and objectives.

  • Travels to AGB casting supplier in Italy (2-3 times per year)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical or structural engineering role

  • Ability to travel internationally, up to 15%.

  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires U.S. citizenship.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • Experience in casting and/or machining design and manufacturing.

  • Experience in increasing products for production readiness in supply chain within the aerospace industry.

  • Experience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS, 3D modelling software such as NX Unigraphics, and use of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and organizations outside of engineering.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects and deliver high quality results on-time and on-budget.

  • Highly motivated, passionate, with exceptional communication skills.
