Eastern Bank VP, Payment Operations Manager in Lynn, Massachusetts
Overall Management Responsibilities Include:
Multiple Business Unit oversight consisting of Wire Transfers, ACH and Electronic services and International Payment Operations:
Designs, implements, and oversees staff, processes and systems to identify, monitor and control business line efficiencies and risks.
Provides strategic recommendations to senior management based on KRIs and KPIs.
Evaluates processes, systems and vendors for opportunities for continuous process improvements, ensuring all comply with regulatory requirements and expectations and the Bank’s policy requirements.
Electronic Transactions Services/Automated Clearing House Operations:
Responsible for the oversight of operational functions of Online Banking and related cash management services, including but not limited to Automated Clearing House (ACH) related services.
Team activities include setup and maintenance of online banking products and services; setup and maintenance of all ACH related products and services.
ETS team is also responsible for all processing, balancing, management and regulatory compliance of ACH transactions.
International Banking Operations:
Responsible for the daily operations of all aspects of FX operations.
Activities include foreign exchange payments and related processing, multicurrency account transactions, and associated reconciliations.
Ensures various deadlines internally and externally are met.
Coordinates with internal teams as well as various vendors to resolve issues and ensure timely processing of customer transactions.
Operations: Unit Management
Develop and coach staff within the departments. Lead workflow and efficiency efforts within the department/division.
Develop internal alliances with stakeholders for a more effective end to end operational process.
Develops and maintains operating budget for multiple cost centers.
Identify opportunities of improvement and lead specialized projects.
Operations: Compliance, Risk and Audit Management
Manage audit and risk activities for these areas. Execute on Monitoring and Control Testing Requirements.
Maintain effective BCM, Compliance, Vendor and Risk programs and assessments within each unit.
Serve as Primary Payment Operations Operational Impact Team member
Serve as member of the Bank’s Payment Council
Serve as member of the Bank’s BCM Committee
Serve as a member of the Bank’s Cyber Security Committee.
Operations: Technology Utilization
Manage the utilization of core and related applications for ACH and FX related processing and product parameters.
Continuous evaluation of the department’s technologies effectiveness utilization and risk rating.
Lead projects associated with implementation or integration of payment processing related technologies.
This employee is required to perform assigned job duties independently and responsibly. This employee is accountable for the quality and accuracy of deposit processing as well as claims and complaint resolution.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:
Knowledge of banking operations of a financial institutions including regulatory requirements, best practices, key processes, controls and product development.
Technical knowledge of core banking systems, payment systems, and other applications used to support and improve operational efficiency and processing effectiveness.
The candidate must be highly organized, motivated and demonstrate the ability to think creatively and critically and problem solve. Ability and willingness to drive change.
Must possess excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint.
The incumbent should possess strong communication and organization skills as well as strong customer service skills and knowledge of general accounting principles. Attention to detail is required as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. They must be able to work effectively as part of a team and confident on presenting results to management
Education and Experience
AAP Certification Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree required. Graduate degree or relevant professional designation preferred.
5-7 Years of operations experience gained from working within a financial institution.
Solid Financial Institution knowledge: products, services, and operational workflow.
