Under the direction of the Supervisor of the Specialties Scheduling Center department, specialties scheduler works in a centralized call center department. Specialties Scheduler will be responsible for various work queues in order to schedule both internal and external specialty appointments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the scheduling of all specialty appointment referrals. Direct specialty appointments within CHA or CHA’s preferred providers/organizations.

Responsibilities:

● Verifying insurance details and informing patient of un-covered appointments

● Outreach to patients and external providers for scheduling purposes

● Scheduling patients for outpatient referral appointments

● Manage incoming calls by following department guidelines

● Resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur

● Accurately schedule patient appointments

● Answering phone promptly and courteously

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required

  • Knowledge of health insurance required EPIC scheduling, work queue, and registration experience strongly preferred

  • Professional telephone etiquette required.

  • Experience with high volume calls and outreach strongly preferred.

  • Strong administrative experience with superior attention to detail.

  • The right candidate will be receptive to changes in processes, takes initiative, is a team player, and embodies a responsible attitude and work ethic.
