Eliot Community Human Services Developmental Specialist, Early Intervention (EI) - Fee for Service (FFS) in Malden, Massachusetts

6% salary differential for Bilingual candidates

The Eliot Early Intervention Program is seeking a Bachelor level Developmental Specialist interested in making a difference for children and families. Early childhood experience required. Bilingual preferred.

Eliot’s Early Intervention Program helps children from birth to three years of age who have developmental delays or disabilities. Serving young children and their families in Everett, Malden, and Medford, our Early Intervention specialists provide community based therapeutic intervention utilizing a coaching model with parents and caregivers. Eliot EI specialists will participate in screenings, assessments, center and home visits, child and parent groups, and will provide service coordination for families along with consultation regarding clinical and developmental issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, screen, and evaluate performance of infants and children using standard measures.

  • Develop and ensure follow up of treatment goals from the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) in the home. Plans are developed in accordance with the requirements of the funding source, sound clinical practice, and in collaboration with the family.

  • Provide intervention in the areas of cognition, social behaviors, perceptual motor skills, and learning style.

  • Provide transdisciplinary services to families and children enrolled in the Early Intervention program.

  • Utilize a team approach to planning and treatment with families, physicians, and agencies.

  • Provide assessment/reports, IFSP’s, progress notes, and insurance verification reports within established timelines.

  • Provide in service training to other team members within areas of expertise.

  • Maintain client records in accordance with Department of Public Health and Eliot protocols.

  • Attend staff development and professional seminars and meetings to maintain or upgrade professional skills..

Schedule: Varied

Pay Rate: $50/hour for Bachelors, $55/hour for Masters

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Bachelors or better in Psychology

Licenses & Certifications

Required

  • MA Driver's License

Experience

Required

  • Good clinical documentation skills and be able to meet deadlines.

  • Meet third party and Department of Public Health Early Intervention Program regulations criteria.

Preferred

  • 1-2 year: Infancy/early childhood
