The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's (DESE) Office for Student Assessment Services (SAS) is responsible for coordinating the development, administration, and reporting of the Commonwealth’s statewide student assessment programs.
The MCAS/Test Development Project Assistantwill perform the following duties:
support test development staff with assessment committees and meetings;
collect, organize, and update applicant information for various MCAS educator committees;
work with test development staff to organize and communicate with committee members;
organize internal test development meetings;
assist with logistics for external meetings, including organizing and producing documents for the meetings;
assist with creating presentations for MCAS meetings;
assist with the administration of surveys and organize survey results;
update online resources to improve the appearance of web pages and accessibility for users;
respond to inquiries (emails and phone calls) from school and district staff; and
other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess:
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications.
Ability to organize data in spreadsheets and produce reports based on the data.
Ability to write concisely, express thoughts clearly and use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Ability to prepare documents and reports accurately.
Ability to develop online surveys and gather results.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
This is a part-time, 15 hour per week, contracted position.
The extension of this contracted position is contingent upon funding availability and approval.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in administrative work.
