job summary:
Quality Engineer specializing in new product development needed for immediate direct role south shore of Boston, Massachusetts. The NPD quality engineer will monitor and improve the quality of new product launch processes and outputs. This person's responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. They will also work with operations managers and supervisors to implement quality measures.
A successful Quality Engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards The ideal candidate will have a thermoforming and plastics extrusion background with a knack for quality.
B.S. Engineering or applicable Technical Degree along with 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role. Manufacturing experience including polymer extrusion or converting is highly preferred and certification as CQE and/or training in QMS is essential.

Develop and implement quality standards and quality control systems
Monitor and analyze quality performance.
Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
Collaborate with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
Investigate and troubleshoot product or any potential production issues.
Develope corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
Review codes, specifications, and processes.
SQF/ISO requirements compliance
Requirements
B.S. Engineering or applicable Technical Degree along with 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
Manufacturing experience including polymer extrusion or converting is highly preferred
Certification as CQE and/or training in QMS
Experience coding and using QA software tools and processes
Ability to interface and communicate with people throughout the organization from the production floor to plant leadership
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have solid project management skills
