The Lean Materials Director is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful deployment of the Danaher Materials System (DMS) across Cytiva, a framework of tools and principles used to manage the flow of materials from suppliers to customers through the value stream. These tools are used in concert to drive continuous improvement in on-time delivery, inventory, and related costs. You will be an enabler to stakeholder functions and sites to meet Policy Deployment (PD), Core Value Drivers (CVD), and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.

The Lean Materials Director helps to create DMS Sustainability both broadly across Cytiva and in a targeted fashion with mentored functions and sites. You will collaborate to determine the funnel of high impact improvement priorities and lead the definition, maturity model, deployment and continuous improvement of DMS across Cytiva.

This position is part of the supply chain and logistics team and will be fully remote within the US. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Accelerate results in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost by leveraging DBS tools, problem-solving, mentoring skills, and change management processes

  • In collaboration with OpCo function and site leadership, develop DMS roadmap and DMS Maturity tracking to meet PD/CVD/KPI requirements and DMS Sustainability

  • Promote the use and improvement of DMS tools and build a network of global Certified Practitioner (CP) and Advanced Certified Practitioner (ACP) to support Cytiva needs

  • Provide formal and informal training and mentoring at Gemba and ensure impactful kaizen events

  • Use the Danaher Materials Assessment to evaluate each element of DMS by going to Gemba to understand the current state and develop a plan to improve materials processes that will deliver impactful results.

  • Develop and improve materials standards, practices, and policies, driving adoption to and compliance with the standards. Define and create PFEP practices.

  • Collaborate with other enabling functions to develop team proficiency using both Oracle and SAP, design MRP order controls and base configurations to support ERP improvement, and make recommendations for system capability enhancements

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 10+ years of Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Operations Leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or other relevant discipline required; Master’s Degree preferred

  • Ideally, a minimum of Director of Ops / Supply Chain / Materials, Plant Manager experience level; multi-site preferred

  • Hands-on experience implementing LEAN Materials Pull & Flow from supplier to customers

  • Extensive MRP experience

  • Systems knowledge – SAP and/or Oracle experience (Materials – MRP, Inventory Optimization; S&OP / Demand Planning; Purchasing; Production Planning; Warehouse, Inventory Tracking, bar codes, RFID, etc.)

  • Ability to travel 50%+ to domestic and international locations

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Operations and driving change in a regulated industry (pharma or medical device desired)

  • Multi-business unit, matrix, complex org structure environment

  • Leading large projects involving change management, PMP a plus

  • APICS Certification

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $225,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
