Galvion Engineering Technician in MARLBOROUGH, Massachusetts

PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES

Provide electrical/mechanical support including testing, troubleshooting, and the recording of data. Document new cables, accessories, and work instructions for new and upgraded products. Maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) for new products, and evaluate new parts for the AVL (Authorized Vendor List).

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact on a day-to-day basis with engineer team to builds knowledge and understanding, leading to decisions that move new technology and products forward.

  • Apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify printed circuit board and bread boards or programing knowledge to modify test scripts and modify existing application.

  • Working with the direction of a member of the engineering staff.

  • Support electrical-mechanical interfaces as required

  • Create, update, and route ECO/ECNs in support of change management process

  • Assemble initial prototypes as required

  • Test and troubleshoot from board to system level

  • Design and build prototype circuits under supervision of a senior engineer

  • Write rework documents

  • Write assembly processes as required

  • Soldering and replacing simple parts

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Create and maintain cable drawings for new and existing cables

  • Create rework documents for printed circuit assemblies

  • Proficient in schematics capture and cable document

Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics or equivalent

  • 2+ year experience in Altium design software

  • Basic knowledge of electronics required

  • Troubleshooting down to component level

  • Experience in good engineering practices and the use of industry standard test equipment.

  • Working knowledge of standard lab equipment, Digital Volt Meters, Oscilloscopes, etc.…

  • Experience with C++, C#, Python, or Java a plus

  • Willing to adopt a hands-on approach to identifying and solving problems.

  • Ability to build, test and de-bug prototype electrical subsystems under the direction of senior level engineers.

  • Ability run test procedures, including the generation of detailed test reports under the direction of senior level engineers

  • Basic soldering skill required

  • Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project specifically).

  • Position requires a person who is detail oriented, meticulous and quality conscious.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a shifting landscape.

  • A can-do, customer-centric attitude is a necessity.

  • Experience with analytical test equipment is a plus.

  • Knowledge of design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) a plus

  • Fast learner with excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment
