Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) group is excited to offer a Lab Manager role within our Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team in Marlborough, MA. As part of the ATS team, you'll play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) while supporting our existing fielded systems. What You Will Do:

  • You will oversee and support lab issues, conduct lab walk-throughs, and manage lab material purchases and utilization meetings.

  • You will handle test equipment calibration, dock logistics, and ensure compliance with lab access training and quality assurance efforts.

  • You will coordinate international hardware and software shipments.

  • You will maintain inventory of government material and support disposition activities.

  • You will engage in strategic lab space planning and manage the lab budget.

  • You will serve as the main point of contact for material-related questions from various stakeholders.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will learn advanced strategies in lab management, from handling international shipments to ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, all within a leading aerospace and defense company.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in lab management and operations leadership, with strong knowledge of compliance and quality assurance standards to ensure efficient oversight and maintain the integrity of lab functions.

  • Must have the ability to effectively manage budgets and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring resources are optimally allocated and accounted for.

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs, as hands-on management and physical tasks are occasionally required to support lab operations.

  • Education - Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience with international shipping and handling procedures to coordinate seamless global logistics and minimize potential disruptions.

  • Prior experience in lab equipment calibration and maintenance, as these are essential to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of our testing processes.

  • Prior experience with SAP programs (Prism).

  • Prior experience with export/import requirements and processes.

  • Prior experience with Lean/Process Improvement initiatives.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
