Aspen Aerogels is searching for a collaborative, analytical and motivated professional as our Senior Analyst of Strategic Finance. Combining the worlds of finance and strategy – this role will be at the forefront of driving effective and efficient transformation of financial operations as Aspen rapidly expands into the Electric Vehicle (“EV”) sector.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate FP&A, this newly created role will drive and support strategic initiatives across corporate strategy, planning, and projects. You will focus on the evolution of KPI reporting and strategic analytics, partnering with leaders across the organization to bring data-driven insights to the forefront of every decision. This role will play an integral part in ongoing financial analysis to enhance operational performance and position Aspen for long-term, profitable growth.
The ideal candidate will be an independent, strategic, and analytical thinker who is a strong team player with a solution-oriented growth mindset. Working at both a strategic and tactical level are keys to success in this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive strategic initiatives through a combination of business partnering, analytical insight and project management
Create and design dashboards for management and operations teams to monitor KPI’s at the plant and product level
Develop sophisticated financial models and synthesize outputs to present information that leads to actionable insight
Implement best practices and define new processes to drive financial planning and analysis
Proactively identify strategic opportunities and risks, and bring data-driven recommendations as solutions to leadership
Provide support to equity and debt financing, partnership, licensing and M&A activities
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
3+ years of experience in consulting, private equity / venture capital, investment banking, strategic planning, product strategy, or other fast-paced environment
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics
Exceptional analytical, modeling and critical thinking skills
Ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication, and influence; strong ownership of tasks/deadlines/projects
Domain knowledge of strategic planning, competitive analysis, business development, and supply/demand frameworks
Strategic and operational agility; able to support and operationalize Finance and company-wide strategies
Highly capable of analyzing and interpreting data, translating into actionable steps, and communicating clearly across all levels of the organization
Excellent communication and project management skills, ability to use a collaborative style to work across teams to efficiently drive results and impacts throughout the organization
