The Raytheon Systems and Solutions Integration (SSI) team is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Designer Engineer to support the architecture, design and development of complex, custom Information Systems for our program work environments. Successful qualified candidates will have experience working as and/or working with System Designers/Architects and Systems Security to develop infrastructure design artifacts. This position is an ONSITE role in Marlborough, MA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop and coordinate IT technology strategies, roadmaps, and reference architectures.

  • Analyze business requirements to develop technical solutions.

  • Support proposal teams and technical review teams

  • Develop concepts and projects that cover gaps in technology roadmaps.

  • Forms effective business relationships; fosters an open culture of collaboration.

  • Perform technology evaluations, develop proof-of-concepts, and look for opportunities to introduce advanced Information Technologies into solutions and products.

  • Develop and drive common processes and tools across the Architect function.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically, a bachelor’s degree and 8 years of direct experience or a master’s degree in and 5 years of direct experience.

  • 8+ years’ experience providing technical solutions for IT systems.

    • Experience in developing systems designs, including architecture, ConOps, and deployment.
  • Experience in systems design in infrastructure technologies such as server operating systems, server hardware, compute, storage, networks, virtualization, VoIP, video, encryption, and security.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Must be able to travel up to 10%

Qualifications We value:

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, Red Hat, Ansible, VMware, Containerization, and Netapp Storage devices.

  • Experience to working with technical concepts to non-technical audiences using verbal, written and graphical means in proposal efforts and product strategies.

  • Candidate must have the ability to clearly articulate ideas, process steps, and technical data in written, graphical, and spoken dialogue.

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, Red Hat, Ansible, VMware, Containerization, Netapp Storage experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with others collaboratively and constructively.

  • Candidate must be both an innovative and strategic thinker.

  • Strong analytical and problem determination/resolution skills

  • Proven track record of developing concepts and products that extends knowledge in each field or pursuit.

  • Architectural and Security certifications such as TOGAF and CISSP

  • Familiarity with Government security controls including NISPOM, JAFAN, ICD 503 and the RMF

  • May have broad knowledge of project management.

  • Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems to provide enhancements within job area.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
