DuPont has an immediate opening for an experienced Supply Chain Specialist at our Marlborough, MA site.

The supply planning organization involves activities such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution. Defines and implements projects to optimize the supply chain in support of business strategies. Evaluates the competitiveness of the business supply chain with respect to service, cost and investment. Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Supply Chain Specialist is accountable for the formal planning and execution of all executional level processes required to secure and manage packaging materials based on a forward-looking production plan. This includes scheduling and managing delivery, storage, staging, and movement of materials. Responsible to create and maintain plans for the acquisition of parts and materials confirm resource availability.

Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:

  • Accountable for material planning execution and coordination between internal and external stakeholders (e.g. logistics, manufacturing, suppliers)

  • Identify and resolve conflicts with supply and demand and available capacity for the MPS horizon.

  • Utilize “what if” simulations to evaluate proposed MPS changes to determine impact and execute the approved changes effectively.

  • Works cross-functionally to ensure reliable supply of consumable materials given numerous constraints (e.g. storage constraints, leadtime, transportation limitations).

  • Participates in daily manufacturing production meetings to provide up-to-date consumable material information and inventory dispositions.

  • Leads open order discussions with key suppliers.

  • Develops process improvements to improve supply reliability—on-time delivery performance.

  • Recommend disposition of obsolete or slow-moving inventories as appropriate.

  • Requires conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and developing knowledge of related job disciplines.

  • Works independently with minimal to moderate guidance.

  • Analyzes potential solutions to problems (with or without vague/unstructured aspects) using experience, judgment and precedents.

  • Work requires judgment and consideration of future implications beyond the immediate problem.

  • Cycle count requests and inventory management ownership. Actively involved in reconciliation efforts.

  • Supports other specific logistics activities that directly impact supply planning.

  • Improvement opportunities to maximize storage capacities.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED Equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related field

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office – especially Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience with SAP ERP system and Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) interface (preferred)

  • APICs CPIM certification (preferred)

  • Fluent in English

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willing and able to wear appropriate and designated PPE (personal protective equipment) within certain areas of the plant (e.g., hard-hat, safety glasses or goggles, gloves, steel-toed boots)—need to facilitate cycle counts and collaborate with manufacturing and logistic teams

  • Responsible, positive working attitude and self-motivative, being able to work under pressure
