Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) group is excited to offer a Systems Engineer II role within our Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team. In this position, you'll help modernize the Auto Trac II Product Line for the Australian Defense Air Traffic System (ADATS). Your role will involve providing technical support, defining and analyzing requirements, and contributing to system development and validation. You'll also participate in daily scrum meetings and manage tasks in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). What You Will Do:

  • You will define and derive system engineering requirements, including interface definitions and requirement verification and validation.

  • You will support operations concept definition and procedure planning, collaborating with personnel from various organizations.

  • You will join a systems engineering team working on the new ADATS LOTE contract, contributing to innovative solutions in air traffic management.

  • You will address customer issues by developing system and product-level requirements, ensuring solutions meet their needs.

  • You will create sell-off criteria to effectively verify requirements and ensure project success.

  • You will play a key role in modernizing air traffic control systems, making a significant impact on air traffic management nationwide.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of prior experience in systems engineering, including expertise in requirements decomposition, flow-down, and verification.

  • Must have prior experience generating and delivering technical documentation to stakeholders, including drafting, reviewing, and updating materials.

  • Education - Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

  • Must be willing to obtain FAA clearance: Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience with IBM DOORS, Atlassian Jira, or Confluence.

  • Prior experience supporting a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) government contract.

  • Prior experience working in small teams to achieve program cost and schedule objectives.

  • Prior experience with Agile Development Processes.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
