Molina Healthcare Intern, Provider Network (Must reside in Michigan) in Massachusetts

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY (Purpose of the Job & high-level summary):​

The Molina Healthcare Internship Program shares an objective to create a steppingstone for students who aim to be professionals and future leaders in the healthcare business profession. Interns are assigned special projects and various other duties that are intended to provide them with valuable professional work experience and industry insight. The purpose of an internship is to develop talent by providing students with experiential learning, formal training, and opportunities to interact with healthcare professionals and community leaders. Interns will perform meaningful work alongside talented professionals, gaining insight into Molina’s culture, Mission, and Values.​

Provider Information Management ​

  • Learn Molina business and protocol for provider network administration, including service and contracting. ​

  • Learn our network management tools such as Quest and QNXT platforms for network adequacy and oversight of provider network data.​

  • Work closely with team and management to ensure adherence to system maintenance and regulatory requirements.​

  • Support contracting ‘lifecycle’ by participating in negotiations (as support staff), reviewing contracts, analyzing PADU (preferred, acceptable, discouraged, unacceptable) terms.​

  • Support provider meetings and preparation, including JOC’s (Joint Operating Committee)​

Preferred Experience ​

  • Must possess clear and professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.​

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and ability to develop relationships.​

  • Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills required​

  • Computer experience including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and experience with internet research.​

  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills​

  • Ability to handle confidential information​

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)​

REQUIRED EDUCATION:​

Candidate must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program as a current freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and pursuing a Bachelor's degree with preference in the following areas – Healthcare Administration or Management, Business Administration, Health Informatics, Public Administration​

Candidate must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.​

Pay Range: $8.33 - $18.05 / HOURLY
